Michael is often asked about his gear and thus wanted to dedicate a section of the website to explain why he uses these particular instruments and pieces of equipment.

Gibson J-100 XT acoustic guitar

The sound of a jumbo body is just so warm. I love the sound and the style. 

Hagstrom Corvette electric guitar

This is the guitar that I learned to play on.  It has been in my family since the 70's and it was made in Sweden probably around 1965.  I don't play it live too often, but it is a lot of fun when it makes it out of it's case.  

Fender Deville guitar amplifier

This amplifier has a great clean sound for the great tones the Rickenbacker gives.

Yamaha Motif 8 Keyboard

If you are looking for a keyboard with great piano sounds, stings, drums and everything else you could imagine, than this is the keyboard for you. 

Shure P4T-HF In Ear monitor system

Once you use the in-ear monitor system, it is hard to go back to anything else.  I use the Shure E1 headphones with a set of custom molds. 

Custom Pedal Board

I use the Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer overdrive pedal, Maxon OD9 overdrive pedal, Boss DD-3 delay pedal, Boss tuner, Morley AABB channel switcher, Line 6 Delay, Line 6 Modulator, Digitech Whammy, TC Voice Live and two Ernie Ball volume pedals.  The Boss Tuner pedal is a must as it allows you to kill the signal to the amp or direct box and unplug your guitars in between songs.  A channel switcher is also useful for sending two different signals to either your amp for the electric guitar or to your direct box for the acoustic guitars.  This way you don't have to use two separate instrument cables for your electric and acoustic.
